What Is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day began in the early twentieth-century movement.

The march inspired the first National Woman’s Day on February 28th, 1909, and Clara Zetkin spearheaded a campaign for International Women’s Day in 1911.

In 1977, the UN passed a resolution for a Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace held annually on March 8th.

Today, International Women’s Day is a true celebration of how far we have come. Even though men do lose weight faster than women, we are all equal.

How Can I Celebrate International Women’s Day?

2022’s International Women’s Day campaign is #BreakTheBias.

The simplest way to support the campaign is to post a photo on social media with your arms crossed in an X in front of you and tag it #BreakTheBias.

But you don’t have to stop there! You can also celebrate International Women’s Day by:

  • Supporting a woman-owned business
  • Reading female authors
  • Watching films or TV shows from female directors and producers
  • Listening to music by female artists
  • Donating to or volunteering with a women’s rights organization

Georgia Goppert: Empowering Women at Infinite30

Infinite30’s founder, Georgia Goppert, is a North Carolina native and mother of two. She has spent her whole life showing just how amazing women can be and refusing to allow challenges to get in her way on her journey to success.

Georgia served her country as a US Army Combat Medic Veteran–she is proof women can be just as valiant and tough as anyone else. She has always loved helping people and the medical field.

After her service in the military, at the age of 20, she was a military wife, moving every two to three years. Georgia quickly realized she needed a skill that would allow her to meet her passion of helping others while also being a supportive wife. During this time, she became a certified/licensed massage therapist in the five states of Hawaii, Nevada, Oklahoma, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Georgia was the very first bodyworker/therapist awarded a contract through MWR at Ft. Sill, OK as the very first sole proprietor for the entire base.

Shortly after a few years in Oklahoma, she relocated to Henderson, NV.

During her time in Nevada, she enrolled in the pre-professional degree program at UNLV. Unfortunately, she developed an infection that took over her whole body which landed her in the hospital. After the hospital, this event, caused Georgia to reframe and refocus her career aspirations from treating disease to actually preventing it in the first place.

At the end of the 16-year marriage as a military spouse, with dreams of owning her own business, she finally had that opportunity, since she was no longer transient, moving every 2-3 years. She teamed up with her mother, Susan Calloway to open a successful Massage Spa in 2013, Massage Destination in Wake Forest, NC. The goal was to offer wellness through relaxation and proven massage therapy techniques, refined in collaboration with physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and chiropractors, to address an important but often overlooked part of health.

On a mission to focus on overall wellness, she started a weight loss company in 2016. Beyond her expectations, she was able to cause significant changes in people not only with weight loss issues but also a holistic approach to overall wellness, hormone balance, healthy eating habits, and exercise, all focused on improving overall health and preventing disease. In 2019 the well-established Massage Destination was sold and today, Georgia is the sole owner of Infinite30 Weight Loss and Wellness. Since that one location in Wake Forest, the Infinite30 family has grown to a multi-location, multi-state network of independently owned and operated businesses thriving in markets in the East Coast and Midwest. Future plans include the expansion of the network into the West coast.

Through a women’s Bible Study and by God’s grace, He positioned her in a place to share her testimony, as an author, with 11 other women. The book entitled “I Am Created to Win” was published and released by her Bible Study leader, Antionette McCormick, who is also now a licensee of Infinite30 Cary, NC Twelve women who have beaten the odds of life’s most difficult challenges through Faith.

Today, five years strong, Georgia continues to help not only clients but women in general who want to thrive and own their own businesses. Her passion remains steadfast to empower everyone to take their God-given life back through overall wellness and enhance the quality of life.
